Days for Girls New Zealand is an important part of the global work and advocacy of Days for Girls International.
Why DfG?
Our washable pads are innovative enough to hold a US Patent. It is uniquely designed to wash with little water and dry quickly. Reported by users worldwide to last 2 - 5 years with proper care.
Achievements
NZ teams distribute over 3500 kits in a typical year. About 20-25% of these go to NZ women. We have partnerships to work with groups throughout the Pacific region.
Our History
Health education is provided when kits are distributed. The focus for teams in NZ, and worldwide, is on QUALITY, not quantity of kits. All kits components are made and given with aroha.
In 2019 NZ kits went to the following countries (often with multiple distributions in a given country). Borneo, Cambodia, Fiji, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Kiribati, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Tonga, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and of course New Zealand.
